you should use QR codes

From being in an advert, a magazine, on a document with house details, on an estate agent’s window or a manual for a product, Quick Response Codes (QR Codes) are slowly gaining popularity in all sectors of every industry.

The two dimensional codes are very similar to barcodes, the only difference is that they can be scanned by numerous people thanks to free applications built into our smartphones, which are also downloadable from various application stores.

The codes use our cameras as the code reader, just like scanners at stores are used to scan barcodes off products.

QR codes can store a variety of information and some common data that is often stored in a QR code includes a website link, a piece of text or even a message.

These codes commonly include marketing material, be it a business card, poster, flyer, brochure, or even a window sticker.

QR codes give that extra information that a normal advert cannot.

They direct you, as the reader, straight to richer and more useful content and make it easier for sellers to get information to you.

You, as a reader, scan QR codes and are taken to the product online.

This directs you to a much more informative web page, with text, pictures, reviews, videos and more, that you would not get in your regular brochure.

Ultimately, QR codes are designed to provide you with more information in an easy to use method without the hassle of going to any web pages.

The Germiston City News now has QR codes in our newspaper to make it easier for you to access our local website.

QR code scanners can be downloaded from the Google
