Cut the onion underwater<\/h3>\n<p>This method prevents sulfuric compounds from reaching your eyes and you tearing up. Run a fan<\/h3>\n<p>What the fan does is blow the sulfuric compounds away from your face or run the extractor fan above your stove.<\/p>\n<h3>4. Wear goggles<\/h3>\n<p>As silly as this method may seem, it works wonders. Chew gum<\/h3>\n<p>Chew the gum before cutting the onion and whilst cutting continue chewing.
