{"id":115877,"date":"2016-03-22T08:45:00","date_gmt":"2016-03-22T06:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/germistoncitynews.co.za\/115877\/women-show-they-care-by-cutting-their-hair\/"},"modified":"2016-03-22T10:52:57","modified_gmt":"2016-03-22T08:52:57","slug":"women-show-they-care-by-cutting-their-hair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/develop.citizen.co.za\/germiston-city-news\/news-headlines\/2016\/03\/22\/women-show-they-care-by-cutting-their-hair\/","title":{"rendered":"Women show they care by cutting their hair"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Glam Girl Hair and Beauty Studio was full of the sound of laughter and excitement last Friday when five women met to cut their hair.<\/p>\n<p>Although this is what you would expect to happen at a hair salon, the purpose of the women\u2019s visit was very different.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>It was not to get all glammed up and looking good but rather to cut their hair to donate to Cansa.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Women cut their hair for Cansa 1\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/k-nenL99NO0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>Winnette van Niekerk, Alison Labuschagne, Lisa Crichton and Belinda van Heerden (a hairstylist at the salon) all decided to cut off their ponytails and donate the hair to Cansa, while a very brave Bridgette Ferreira went the whole hog and shaved off all her hair for donation purposes.<\/p>\n<p>The women had to cut a minimum of 25cm off their ponytails and then Cansa uses four ponytails to make one wig for cancer sufferers.<\/p>\n<p>Winnette told the GCN that she does this every second year as she feels it is important to make a contribution to cancer sufferers.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Women cut their hair for Cansa 2\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_H4cO2Vk8aU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
