A Land Rover Discovery crashed through bridge barriers and landed on the railway line, on Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n

The accident took place onat the Webber Road railway bridge at about 10.40pm and Ekurhuleni Emergency Services, as well as private ambulance services, responded to the scene.<\/p>

William Ntladi, district manager media liaison for Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS), said: \u201cFortunately there was no train approaching at the time and the necessary communiqu\u00e9 was sent to alert Prasa and Metrorail to the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne person was, unfortunately, declared dead on the scene, while another three were hospitalised after sustaining critical injuries.<\/p>

\u201cThey were transported to Tambo Memorial Hospital, in Boksburg, by a private ambulance service.\u201d<\/p>\n
