{"id":109338,"date":"2016-01-06T10:51:00","date_gmt":"2016-01-06T08:51:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/germistoncitynews.co.za\/109338\/join-the-local-boot-camps-now\/"},"modified":"2016-01-06T10:47:12","modified_gmt":"2016-01-06T08:47:12","slug":"join-the-local-boot-camps-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/develop.citizen.co.za\/germiston-city-news\/sports-news\/2016\/01\/06\/join-the-local-boot-camps-now\/","title":{"rendered":"Join the local boot camps now"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Looking to lose the extra weight gained from all the festive season treats or just want to keep in shape and stay healthy?<\/p>\n<p>Why not dust off your running shoes, rinse your water bottle and join the local boot camps?<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>Sunnyrock\u2019s Dee le Roux and Lambton\u2019s Charmaine Nicoll started boot camps last year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are two boot camps, one in Germiston CBD and the other in Sunnyridge,\u201dsaid Dee.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe one in Germiston CBD was started in February, by myself and Charmaine, and then in September I opened one in Sunnyridge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBoth the boot camps are free of charge, we just want the community to have fun and stay healthy at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOften you find people can\u2019t afford to join the gym but want to keep healthy and lose weight which is why we offer this free service.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dee also told the GCN that more people are welcome to register and join.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe camps closed in December last year, for the festive holiday,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThough we re-opened on January 10 for the first four-week challenge registration, we invite more people to come and register and join this fun initiative.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe operate under a four-week time frame; after every four weeks we re-register existing members while also registering new members.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost of the members love it and register for every challenge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf anybody is interested in catching the first challenge, they are welcome to do so.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dee also said that the growth of the camps is motivating.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Germiston CBD camp started with 34 members and when we closed last year we had 120 members registered, while the Sunnyridge camp escalated from 41 to 100 members,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are hoping to grow even more.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe currently have two trainers, Courtney Nicoll, who facilitates in Germiston CBD, and Cassandra le Roux, for Sunnyridge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe boot camp in Germiston is held at the Sanctuary of Light situated on the corner of Webber and Lindsay roads and the other boot camp is held at Sunnyridge Primary School Sports Grounds situated on Pitts Avenue, Sunnyridge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe appreciate the allowance given to us to utilise these premises.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For Germiston CBD, the sessions are held every Monday and Wednesday from 6pm to 7pm and Saturdays from 7am to 8am;
