Calore wins silver at FSKA SA Nationals

Local girl takes on the FSKA South African Nationals.

A proud Nadia Calore (left) with her sensei, Goran Stankovic. Calore recently took part in the recent Funakoshi Shotokan Karate Association South African Nationals.

Nadia Calore shone at the recent FSKA South African Nationals, in Krugerdorp.

Calore was the sole representative of the Nippon Dojo Shotokan Karate Club, located in Dinwiddie.

She is a blue belt and did extremely well in this major tournament, achieving a silver medal.

She was awarded second place for individual Kata in the 13-year-old age division.

Calore was beaten out of the top spot by a mere 0.1 point on the “count back” method, after finishing level on points.
