Mother’s Day is an annual event that celebrates women across the country.
It is always celebrated on the second Sunday of May which means for this year, it is a few days away.

Sunnyridge Primary School students share what the day means to them.
Mamello Mabusela (13) feels that, “On this day, we must celebrate and appreciate all women in our communities, households and families. Thank them for all their hard work.”
Mthunzi Zamela (12) said; “This is a day where we celebrate all that mothers have done for their children and how much they love each other.”
“On this day, we have to appreciate all the women in your life; it can be your aunt, teacher or grand-mother. Honour them because they can teach a lot of values,” said Jaiden Kuppusami (12).

“This day means a lot to me because mothers go through a lot of pain just to have their children by their side and that is why I treasure this day,” said Andrea Govender (13).
“This is the day when women should be appreciated for who they are and what they have done and a day where they should fell the most important because they work very hard,” said Justine Jarvis (13).
