The South African Weather Service today released a warning of potential veld fires and damaging winds.
The service’s website explained that the hot and dry weather conditions gripping most of the country had lead to an extremely high fire danger.
Strong and damaging winds are also expected this afternoon, from noon to 6pm.
The community is urged to take the necessary precautions when travelling.
