Afrikaanse Hoërskool Germiston was awash with memories and nostalgia, last Saturday, when the matric class of 1964 got together at their 50th matric reunion.
The day was spent chatting over the braai fires and reminiscing about the fun and antics they got up to at school.
Bennie and Marie de Wet loved reminiscing about old times at the school.
Siblings Tom and Elrene van Deemter were happy to be meeting up with old school friends. Elrene was headgirl at the school in 1960, while her younger brother told the GCN he was one of the naughty ones.
The organisers of the event, Susan Loubser Wolmarans and Johan du Pisanie, were thrilled with the turnout and excited that they had managed to get so many of the past pupils together. Susan thanked Retha du Toit, the principal of Afrikaanse Hoërskool Germiston for all her assistance and for allowing them to hold the function at the school.
Griet de Klerk Scriven and her husband,Allan Scriven, were pleased to attend the function.
