Man found two days after escape.

Members of the Germiston SAPS recently arrested a man who had escaped from the Germiston Magistrate Court.

Officers were able to trace and arrest the man two days after he escaped from custody.

“The officer in charge of the investigation and arrest was Sgt Josephine Mpufane,” said spokesperson for the Germiston police, WO André de Jager.

The man has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where he was convicted of escaping from lawful custody and sentenced to five years in prison.

In addition to his time in prison he was declared unfit to possess a firearm.
