An arrest was made on Saturday, May 31, when police officers received a report from a woman who claimed that she was assaulted by her boyfriend.
The victim explained that she and her boyfriend had been in the Makause informal settlement, when they began to argue.
During the heated argument the boyfriend picked up a large stone and began to hit the victim.
The woman sustained serious injuries and had to be taken to hospital.
Officers were able to trace the man and he was arrested.
