The metro has commented on the matter of the damaged barrier, on the Colin Wade Bridge, in Lambton (GCN, February 14).
Themba Gadebe, from the metro’s department of communications and brand management, said: “The damage to the barrier is of such a nature that various sections cannot just be repaired, but must be replaced.
“The metro’s tender for the erection/repairs to guardrails and barriers was recently approved and contractors have been lined up to do these replacement/repairs.
“In the interim, the necessary warnings and barricades will be erected and put in place.”
