The metro informs the community that the planned march by SAMWU staff members set to take place today (February 14) in Germiston is illegal and unprotected.
The Labour Court has declared the planned march/strike illegal and unprotected and has interdicted both the march and the strike.
It is important to note that in terms of section 68 (5) of the Labour Relations Act of 1997, an employer is authorised to discipline and dismiss staff who participate in an illegal, unlawful strike.
