Proud winners of the third Peermont School Support Programme (PSSP) Human Rights and Public Speaking Competition, General Smuts High School in Vereeniging’s, Lindiwe Khumalo (senior champion) and Natasha Bihlmaier (junior section) after the finals of the event held at the Constitutional Court in Johannesburg on Saturday morning, March 15. The eloquent youngsters are pictured here with Peermont Non-Executive Director and the driving force behind the competition, Clifford Elk and contest adjudicators, former Constitutional Court judge, Judge Zak Yacoob, experienced public speaking coach, Heather Venables and journalist, Percy Mabandu. This campaign, which this year had the theme “President 4 a Day” is part of the R40-million, five year PSSP programme to develop centres of excellence around seven public high schools and their feeder primary schools in the Ekurhuleni and Sedibeng areas.
