Rock attack knocks out fire services

Primrose emergency services members were dealt a huge blow when their main fire engine was damaged by a community member.

William Ntladi, district manager media liaison for Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS), shows where some of the panes of glass on the roller doors were smashed by rocks thrown by an irate member of the community into the Primrose Fire Station, last Saturday.

Kyle Langham from the Primrose Fire Station shows where the Scania fire truck’s windscreen was badly damaged in the early hours of last Saturday morning by a rock-wielding angry member of the community. The truck is the station’s major pumper and can now not be used to respond to emergencies.
